Christina Hoehn-Shackelford, M.S.Ed. LPCC-S

Christina currently has availability for individual clients over the age of 18.

Background:

Christina Hoehn-Shackelford earned a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Community Counseling from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Legal Studies from Heidelberg University (formerly Heidelberg College). She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio.

Christina also held a position with Catholic Charities in Cuyahoga County in which she completed mental health assessments and in-home therapy with family and individuals.

Counseling Approach:

Christina utilizes a systemic approach to therapy, focusing not only on the individual, but on their relationships and family involvement as well. She has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for clients with a history of trauma (a single event or multiple events), and she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most clients. She has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Christina specializes in working with college students and adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, life adjustment issues, stress, relational issues, and premarital support and counseling. She also works with individuals who may not have mental health concerns but are just looking to improve their overall life satisfaction and work toward their life goals. Christina joined Alma Via Counseling Services in 2013 and took ownership in 2016.

Christina is contracted with:

  • Medical Mutual of Ohio
  • SummaCare (SCPremier, SCSelect, and Mercy Choice plans)
  • Aetna

Coverage varies greatly among plans and Christina cannot guarantee that your plan will cover any or all of your sessions.

It is important to confirm with your insurance company if Christina is in network with your plan (as all plans are different, and not every provider is in network with every plan).

Stacy Greenamyer M.A.Ed. LPCC-S

Stacy currently has availability for individual clients over the age of 18.

Background:

Stacy Greenamyer earned a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the Kent State University. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio.

While in graduate school, Stacy, worked at Akron Children’s Hospital as a mental health technician on the inpatient psychiatric unit. She completed her graduate school internship at Child Guidance and Family Solutions as an outpatient therapist. Upon completion of her internship she was hired as clinician for the agency and later took on roles such as ICPST (Community Psychiatric Services Treatment) Manager and the School Based Services Manager.

Stacy joined Alma Via Counseling as a consultant in 2017 and is now seeing clients in 2018. She treats individuals with a holistic, eclectic approach; utilizing a multitude of modalities including Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral coping skills. When administering couples counseling, Stacy, applies The Gottman Method of therapy.

Counseling Approach:

Stacy works with teenagers and adults in the areas of communication, marital issues, adjustment issues, depression and anxiety disorders, anger management and family therapy. She also offers support to those individuals who are seeking to improve their overall life satisfaction and may not have a specific mental health concern.

Jen Hoffman M.S.Ed. LPC

Jen currently has daytime and evening availability and is accepting couples, families, and adult clients.

Background:

Jen Hoffman earned a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Science from Anderson University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio.

While attending The University of Akron for graduate school, Jen worked for the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio in Wooster, providing individual and family counseling. She worked with families navigating the adoption process, aided challenged youth that resided at the home, treated individuals seeking counsel, and facilitated groups to develop social and coping skills.

Upon obtaining her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Jen went on to start her family and develop as a writer, speaker, and artist. She has spoken at women’s groups and conferences regarding relational and spiritual growth. Jen and her husband provided premarital counsel for several years. She has specialized in understanding the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, sensory needs, relational challenges, and adjustment issues.

Counseling Approach:

Jen’s approach combines treatment models such as systemic, narrative, cognitive behavioral, and psychoanalytical. She has completed level 1 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy and utilizes these resources in sessions. For clients seeking spiritual development, Jen provides a Biblical approach. Jen joined Alma Via Counseling in 2022 as an outpatient therapist and offers both in person and telehealth sessions.

Julie Stone RN, MSN,  APRN.CNP., a Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of One Wave At A Time, provides services in our office suite also. Julie offers positive mental health services with medication management serving a diverse population via telehealth and face to face office visits.​ Julie is able to see clients anywhere in the state of Ohio due to HIPPA compliant telehealth technology.
