Meet Jen Hoffman
Background:
Jen Hoffman earned a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Science from Anderson University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio.
While attending The University of Akron for graduate school, Jen worked for the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio in Wooster, providing individual and family counseling. She worked with families navigating the adoption process, aided challenged youth that resided at the home, treated individuals seeking counsel, and facilitated groups to develop social and coping skills.
Upon obtaining her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Jen went on to start her family and develop as a writer, speaker, and artist. She has spoken at women’s groups and conferences regarding relational and spiritual growth. Jen and her husband provided premarital counsel for several years. She has specialized in understanding the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, sensory needs, relational challenges, and adjustment issues.
Counseling Approach:
Jen’s approach combines treatment models such as systemic, narrative, cognitive behavioral, and psychoanalytical. She has completed level 1 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy and utilizes these resources in sessions. For clients seeking spiritual development, Jen provides a Biblical approach. Jen joined Alma Via Counseling in 2022 as an outpatient therapist and offers both in person and telehealth sessions.
